Create a ZIP file online
Bundle a handful of files into one archive to email or upload, and lock it with a password if it holds anything private. The archive is built on your own device, so the files are never sent anywhere.
Your files never leave your browser
How to use
- 1
Drop the files you want to pack — any type, as many as you like.
- 2
Pick a compression level and, if you need one, set a password.
- 3
Create the ZIP and download it.
FAQ
Are my files uploaded?
No. The archive is assembled in your browser and the files never leave your device. That matters most for exactly the files people usually password-protect.
How secure is the password?
Entries are encrypted with AES-256, the standard 7-Zip and WinRAR use. The old ZipCrypto scheme is not offered at all, because it can be broken in minutes. A short or common password is still guessable — use a long one.
Which programs can open a password-protected archive?
7-Zip, WinRAR, Keka and PeaZip on any system, and Windows 11. The built-in unzip on older Windows versions and on macOS cannot read AES archives and will report an error.
Why didn't my photos get smaller?
JPG, PNG, MP4, MP3 and PDF are already compressed. They are stored as they are, which is faster and makes no difference to size. Text, documents and spreadsheets shrink a lot.
Is there a size limit?
Up to 2 GB per file. The whole archive is built in memory, so the practical limit is what your device can hold — a laptop handles several gigabytes, a phone less.
