How to turn photos into a single PDF on your phone
Forms want "one PDF", cameras produce a pile of JPGs. You do not need a scanner app with a subscription: the conversion works in the phone browser.
Steps
- Open JPG to PDF on your phone and tap the drop zone to pick photos from the gallery. Select them in the order you want the pages.
- Choose A4 (or Letter in the US) and Portrait; add a small margin so nothing touches the edge.
- Tap Convert and download the PDF, then share it from the Files app.
Tips for readable scans
- Photograph documents in daylight, straight from above; shadows are what make scans hard to read.
- Crop each photo to the page before converting — Crop image does this on the phone too.
- A photo that came out sideways can be fixed with Rotate image first; the PDF keeps the rotation.
Size limits
Ten phone photos make a 30–40 MB PDF. If the portal caps uploads, run the result through Compress PDF at 60% — for documents that reliably lands under 2–3 MB.
Photos of IDs and contracts are exactly the files you do not want on a stranger's server. Every step here happens on the phone itself.
